A DESIGNER’S GUIDE TO HOLIDAY CONTENT

The holidays are quickly approaching, as interior designers, it can be hard to develop a content strategy amid client work on the rise. However, developing a holiday content strategy can be your route to extra income or even booking those months in 2023 that are still open.

Wondering how to create holiday content that will last long after this season? Keep reading for some more tips and tricks!

Layout Your Plan

First and foremost you’ll want to make sure you plan before you take action. This may seem like another tedious task but it is essential to the success of any marketing plan. So, PLAN AHEAD AND PUBLISH EARLY. You’re an interior designer, and your audience is looking for you to bring your expertise on all this decor including how they are to decorate their home in the coming months. Gift guides, branded posts, and even holiday-themed photoshoots are not out of the question when planning your marketing. Keep in mind your ideal client and your brand. How many finances do you have and what holiday marketing techniques match your overall goals? If you are feeling stuck try digging around some of your followers or Instagram pages you are inspired by, and see what they are doing. Inspiration comes in all different forms, even looking at different industries you may find inspiration.

Publish Branded Holiday Content

The start of November is the perfect time to start posting holiday content on your blog and on social media. To make sure your audience keeps track of what you’re posting during the holiday season, add a “Holiday” tab to your Instagram highlights. Once you’ve got your holiday content ready, you can follow this schedule:

  • Thanksgiving Dining Room Design (early-mid November) 
  • Curated Gift Guides (Mid November)
  • Christmas Decorating Tips (Mid-Late November) 
  • Christmas Home Tours (Early-December 1st) 
  • Best of “2022” Content (Mid-Late December) 

It’s Not to Late to Think About Affiliate Links and E-Commerce

Holiday content is inspiring but what makes great content is the ability to create an action from the content. Why not let that action be passive income? Affiliate Marketing Platforms like Rewardstyle are essential for interior designers to be able to monetize their content, anything from blog posts to new letters, and especially social media can be monetized. By utilizing affiliate marketing tactics you can help alleviate the time you’ve invested in making all your gorgeous content!

Similarly, you can open up an e-commerce shop, an e-commerce shop can be linked to social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook where you can share on their platforms as well. If you already have an e-commerce shop add a category dedicated to the holiday, “holiday shop”, or “holiday gift guide” to bring in those clients looking for holiday suggestions.
